The first website
I am 15, sitting at a PC in my childhood bedroom. No plan, just curiosity. The site goes live and works. I have not stopped since.
- 2017
A hobby becomes a job
First client projects alongside my day job. Before long I realise the two no longer fit together. I go out on my own.

tomventures GmbH
My own company, a proper structure, an invoice with my name on it. Registered in Windisch, working with clients across Switzerland.
- Today
One contact for everything
Concept, design, copy, hosting, maintenance, marketing. There is room for bigger projects too: shops with several thousand products, links to accounting software, migrations off old systems.
A website is a tool, not a show. What I build should still work in five years.
-
Craft over hype
A website is a tool, not a show. I build things that still work in five years. If something only looks good for a moment, we leave it out.
-
One person, start to finish
You talk to the person who actually builds it. No account managers, no ticket system, no handovers in between. That scales more slowly, but it is more honest.
-
Enough is enough
If your current website works well, I say so. If a project is not a fit for me, I say that too. I would rather not sell things nobody needs.
-
Tools in the background
I use AI to help me work, not as the end product. Every piece of text passes through my hands before it goes live, and that will not change.
There is a person behind the work, and that person has a life
away from the screen. A few words on that:
- I trade the financial markets and am building my own product around it.
- I spend time with family and friends in Aargau.
- I read, cook and head into the mountains when the weather allows.
- I tinker with small side projects, mostly at the weekend.
A first conversation is free, with no obligation. Send me a short
note. I read it myself and get back to you within one business
day. If it is a fit, we take it from there. If not, I will tell
you honestly.
See you soon, Thomas
