Hosting where I am personally the admin.
Your website runs on my own dedicated server in the EU. Fast, secure and with no faceless support hotline.
What you get with me.
- Your own server in the EUYour website does not sit alongside hundreds of others. It runs on a server I manage myself, located in Germany.
- Fast loading timesThe site is tuned for speed: quick to load, quick to respond, even when several visitors arrive at once.
- Securely encryptedHTTPS runs automatically and renews itself in the background. You never have to think about it.
- Daily backupA full backup every night, kept for fourteen days, on separate storage.
- Staging environment on requestA second copy of your website, where we can try out changes before visitors see them.
- Up-to-date softwareI keep the underlying software current. That keeps your site stable and secure.
- A personal point of contactWhen you have a question, you write to me, not to a support centre.
Price
The maintenance plan from CHF 79/month includes hosting; on its own I offer it only in exceptional cases.
Book an intro callHow we proceed.
- 01
First conversation
We work out what needs hosting, how much traffic to expect and what matters to you.
- 02
Migration or new setup
I handle the move from your current host and make sure your email addresses keep working (email stays with your existing provider).
- 03
Go-live
The DNS switch happens at a quiet time, prepared and tested, so there is no interruption.
- 04
Running it
Updates, monitoring and backups all run, and I get in touch when something needs attention.
What hosting really means.
Online, every day
Hosting means your website stays online. 99.9 percent uptime sounds like a given, but it is not.
When there is a problem I am alerted automatically, often before you notice. Over the year, the short interruptions add up to a few minutes, not hours.
Backups, secured several times over
A single backup is not real security. What if the server the backup sits on fails too? What if an update breaks something?
That is why backups live on separate storage, and before every larger update I create an additional snapshot. In an emergency, the website is back in under an hour.
Why good hosting matters.
- Speed is the foundationA slow website costs you visitors and rankings. Most of the performance comes from the server, not the theme.
- Security starts beneath the CMSOutdated PHP and web server versions are a common way in. On my server I look after that layer myself, rather than hoping someone else does.
- Backups that hold up when it countsBackups belong off-site and need a test restore at least once a quarter. Otherwise you do not know whether they work when it matters.
- One point of contact, not finger-pointingAll too often the host, the developer and the agency keep passing responsibility back and forth. With hosting and maintenance both in my hands, there is one place to go for any question.
Backups that actually work.
- Daily backupThe whole website is backed up automatically every night, in the background, with nothing for visitors to notice.
- Two weeks of historyThe last fourteen versions stay available. If a problem only surfaces days later, we simply roll back.
- Backups stored separatelyThe backups do not sit on the same machine as your website. If something happens there, they are untouched.
- Extra backup before updatesBefore any larger change I take an additional snapshot. If something goes wrong, we are back in under an hour.
- Backups checked regularlyFour times a year I restore a backup at random to test it, so I know it really works when it counts.

Common questions.
-
Why your own server instead of shared hosting?
I control the configuration, the speed and the security. When there is a problem I can step in directly, without waiting on a hosting company to respond.
-
Where is the server located?
In a data centre in Falkenstein, Germany, run by Hetzner. EU data protection, no data transfer to third countries.
-
Is Switzerland not better for data protection?
For most websites an EU location is plenty. If you need Swiss hosting for regulatory reasons (particularly sensitive data, for example), I will say so honestly and point you to a suitable provider.
-
How often are backups made?
Daily, kept for 14 days. Before any larger change I also take an extra backup by hand.
-
What happens if the server goes down?
External monitoring reports the outage automatically. I respond within 1 working day (Mon to Fri) during office hours, usually faster for critical problems. I do not promise round-the-clock standby.
-
Can I book hosting only, without maintenance?
In exceptional cases yes, for CHF 19/month. The standard is the combination, because otherwise I cannot vouch for the security of the site.
-
Does email work through your hosting?
No, and that is deliberate. Email runs externally with your current mail provider and stays there. That keeps email problems and website problems separate.
-
How fast will the site be?
On a well-maintained WordPress website, the common speed tests usually score between 85 and 100 out of 100. The exact numbers depend on the design and the plugins in use. I measure that at the start.
-
How many websites fit on the server?
Deliberately few. I do not overbook the resources or take on as many sites as would be technically possible.
-
What access do I get?
You get full access to your website (WordPress login) and to the hosting panel for logs and files. Server maintenance stays with me, because I am the one responsible for it and the server should not be left open for anyone to tinker with.
-
What happens if I want to move away?
You receive a full backup (database and files) and access to all logins. We coordinate the DNS switch with the new host. No lock-in clauses, no migration fee.
-
Are backups encrypted and off-site?
Yes. Backups are stored encrypted on a Hetzner Storage Box, physically separate from the web server. If the web server is compromised or fails, the backups are unaffected.
