The starting point

LGBT Sphere wanted more than a classic association website. The community needed an online space of its own: a place to sign up, exchange and contribute, while at the same time giving outsiders a clear picture of who the community is. The visual identity wasn’t set yet, brand and platform had to grow side by side.

What I did

The platform was built on WordPress with a BuddyPress community: a public editorial layer with articles and news, plus a protected members area with profiles, discussions and event features. Social login lets members come in without yet another account.

Alongside that, the brand took shape, wordmark, colour system and typography, tuned to the breadth of the community without falling into clichés. The design was carried through the platform consistently so members and guests feel at home from the first click.

The outcome

The platform is built as a place for exchange, not just an information site. The editorial team keeps content up to date on its own, members can bring in their own contributions, and brand and platform follow the same design.
